Graduation Ceremony 2019 Until Now
It all began on April 1, 2019, when I proudly donned my graduation cap at COMSATS University Islamabad. The excitement was palpable, but little did I know the rollercoaster ride that awaited me from that day onward. 🎓✨
Post-Graduation Opportunities 🌟
Even during my seventh semester, the world of possibilities beckoned. Employment offers and internship opportunities started pouring in. I dove headfirst into the world of web technologies, working as an unpaid intern during semester breaks, and immersing myself in the intricacies of WordPress and PHP.
The Uncharted Pathway 🗺️
Life after graduation was anything but a smooth ride. I found myself in uncharted territory with no guidance, minimal knowledge of the IT sector, and a sense of uncertainty. Despite these challenges, two software companies extended internship offers my way. The question was, what did I want to achieve in the realm of web technologies?
Ultimately, I decided to join one of them. However, my initial experience was far from fulfilling. For four months, I felt like I was drifting in a sea of uncertainty, with no mentorship, no direction, and no experience to speak of. Then, a ray of hope emerged when a new technology officer joined the team, marking the beginning of my mentorship journey.
Trials and Triumphs 🚀
Unfortunately, my newfound mentor wasn’t exactly what I had hoped for. Favoritism was the name of the game, leaving me disheartened. But in my darkest moments, two of my closest friends stepped up to offer unwavering support. Faizan, a software company owner who had been my mentor, continued to guide me, even if it meant being tough on me at times.
As I struggled and stumbled, Faizan pushed me towards the MERN stack, and that’s when my true learning journey commenced. I’m grateful for his stern guidance, urging me to master one technology at a time.
Another dear friend, Waleed, who worked in a software company in Rawalpindi, became my beacon of knowledge. He generously shared his expertise through calls and screen-sharing sessions, always offering the most efficient solutions. With his help, I started using Sequelize and MongoDB with NodeJS.
Overcoming Obstacles 🌦️
As I made strides in my learning journey, the pursuit of a paid internship was my next goal. However, I found little support from top management and the technology officer. Despite putting in long hours, I faced numerous challenges. My applications would crash, and I struggled to pinpoint the issues.
Then, in March 2020, COVID-19 struck, bringing everything to a screeching halt. Uncertainty loomed large — how would things unfold? Would I secure a job in the future? Doubts and questions clouded my mind.
A Helping Hand in the Storm 🌈
In those trying times, my friends from earlier became my pillars of strength. Faizan provided me with a roadmap and a unique opportunity to work with him. This experience enriched my knowledge, especially in MongoDB. He encouraged me to delve into TypeScript and NestJS, further expanding my skill set. Thanks to his guidance, I’ve become a Level 1 seller on Fiverr, a path I had never envisioned.
Today, I’m immersed in a world of technologies, constantly learning and growing. All thanks to my friends.
But my gratitude extends to yet another new friend who has been instrumental in my MongoDB journey. Together, we’re exploring cutting-edge technologies and learning from each other.
The Journey Continues 🌐
My journey in the tech world continues, with day and night dedicated to learning, alongside my love for reading and the occasional Call of Duty session. All credit goes to my friends who have stood by my side.
I also plan to continue blogging and, in response to requests, will soon launch a mentorship program for newcomers. Please feel free to connect with me on Instagram for updates and more tech insights. Let’s keep growing and learning together! 🚀📚
